Roll Initiative is a progression-focused World of Warcraft raiding guild on US-Sargeras.
Our guild was founded during Warlords of Draenor in preparation for Legion. Guild leadership has a long and storied history with experience raiding in Top 50 US & World guilds (IRON, Og, DnT) in prior expansions.
The following is our schedule during progression. It is possible that raids will be extended if we know we can get a boss down if we raided later than usual. We do NOT raid during holidays.
All times are listed as CST (Server Time).
Roll Initiative’s chosen system of loot distribution is Loot Council. We use an addon called RC Loot Council to help facilitate the loot distribution process. The officers then decide which player to give the item to. We do record who gets which item, in order to make sure we distribute items fairly evenly. We take into consideration a multitude of things when deciding who to give loot to. A player’s performance, attitude, attendance, and contribution to the raid & the guild will usually be our primary consideration, but please understand that there will sometimes be preference given to raiders that fill critical roles (for example, it is usually a good idea to gear up tanks first when progressing through fresh content).
We require that all raiding members attend every scheduled raid. If you cannot make a scheduled raid, you must inform the officers by posting in the MIA forum. This is because we organise the raid groups based on which members will be available, so if you do not notify us, it could cause serious complications for us. We do understand that sometimes emergencies occur, or other circumstances come up that are beyond your control, and we are always willing to make exceptions where they are merited.
Please note that in addition to turning up on time, we expect our raiders to remain online/available for the entire duration of the raid, unless we tell you otherwise. Bailing due to being sat out or for any other reason is not acceptable. Also, while we actively encourage other aspects of the game (like arena), when the time comes to raid you must be ready and waiting at the specified instance. “I just want to do 2 more games” is not an acceptable reason for lateness.
We all make mistakes, some more than others, but repeating the same mistakes over and over to the point where it kills everyone’s mood will get you and us nowhere. While to us your current gear and previous experience are irrelevant, your current and further performance is not.
Given that we raid less than the average equal progression guild, we look to improve our raiding quality as much as possible, so the less you fail, the better your chances of keeping your raid spot.
A good attitude goes a long way.
We appreciate players who can take a joke, accept and improve from constructive criticism, as well as players who are comfortable speaking up if they think they can bring something to the table, especially during progression and tactics discussion.
Our policy on drama is plain and simple. We are here to have fun. This means you need to get along with everyone else while smashing through content. We don’t want to sit and listen to people cry about stupid things. If you do have an issue with another raiding member that you cannot resolve yourself, you can bring it to the attention of the officers. We will do our best to help you resolve the issue(s), but anyone found to be causing excessive angst will be replaced.
Each player’s own motivation and desire to perform better and achieve greater results is a big asset for our guild.
Players who consistently show up on time and ready to raid will always be prioritized. This includes having the correct consumables, raid tools, and a reliable environment at home.
Roll Initiative has a lot to offer to potential applicants.
The first is leadership. Our guild is run by a highly motivated, competitive, talented, smart, dedicated group of players who always go above and beyond for the guild and every member, they provide structure and stability which allows raiding to be fun, smooth and more importantly efficient.
The second is player development. We dedicate a lot of time to our recruitment process and each applicant. We look for likeminded people with the most potential that are respectful, but can hold their own in a challenging environment. Roll Initiative has a core of outstanding and knowledgeable players who are not only looking to improve themselves, but the people around them. Many people join as above average players and take their game to the next level here with support and insight of current members.
The third is a fun, active community atmosphere. Meshing well with our guild is a must as an applicant, as that chemistry is invaluable during progression. Our guild has some great people that have a lot to offer. The friendships you develop here add a lot to your WoW raiding experience.
